HI, I'M MÓNICA MUÑOZ, ARTIST AND PATTERN DESIGNER.

I have a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Salamanca. I have worked in advertising as a graphic designer, designing products for prestigious museum shops, both in Spain and internationally.

I have worked as Art Director for Fun&Basics, in which I was in charge of the creation of the graphics and printing. I have collaborated independently with renowned companies and brands, including Zara Home, Womens Secret and Urban Outfitters.

My patterns have appeared in international publications such as Print & Pattern book and magazines such as Harper’s Bazaar or Elle. I have participated on several occasions in the El Ego showroom during Fashion Week in Madrid and was selected by the publication Metrópoli de El Mundo as one of the 10 New Young Design Talents of Spain.

In the academic field I teach illustration and pattern design at the IED of Madrid (European Institute of Design) and at the University of Salamanca.

I also have my own brand ‘Moniquilla’, where through illustration and drawings made with different pictorial techniques, I design mainly patterns for textiles and surfaces.

I have launched several collections per year and my products are sold in my online shop and in different locations in Spain, as well as in Anthropologie EU shops.

My passion for artistic expression goes beyond print design. I paint pictures that reflect my vision of colour and experiment with ceramics to bring unique and functional pieces to life. This gives me the opportunity to explore different forms of art and expression. I love surrounding myself with beautiful things and transforming those ideas into tangible works and products.
